Alongside Groundbreaker® Blush™, we are proud to introduce two other remarkable and innovative newcomers to our range: Hydrangea paniculata Groundbreaker® Ruby™ and Greeny™. These unique hydrangeas stand out due to their compact, low growth and exceptionally rich branching. During breeding, specific genetic material was deliberately selected to promote horizontal rather than vertical growth. The plants in the Groundbreaker® collection feature fine foliage and remain strikingly low, with a maximum height of just 40 cm. This marks the beginning of a new era in which paniculatas can serve not only as ornamental shrubs but also as effective ground covers.
This ground-covering Hydrangea flowers for 100 days and is completely covered with clear white, petite flowers from July to November, showing a spectacle of pink hues as the season continues. Its compact, low habit makes Groundbreaker® the ideal Hydrangea for pots on the patio, balcony, terrace, or garden table. Its remarkably compact size is perfect for small gardens, borders, as a groundcover and for mass planting in gardens and public green.

Groundbreaker® grows to a maximum height of 30 to 40 cm and prefers a spot in full sun and well-drained soil. Pruning between November and April will ensure you’ll be surprised with an overwhelming sea of flowers in the garden when summer announces itself. Hydrangea paniculata Groundbreaker® is hardy to -30 ºC.
